Find a Little Free Library Near You!

70 million books are shared each year through Little Free Libraries

By Amanda L. Renna, publisher of Macaroni KID Palmer-Monson-Ware, Mass. and personal addition by Le'anna Robbins, publisher of Macaroni KID Mansfield, LA April 5, 2023

Avoid the "summer slide" by getting your kids reading this summer!

A study by the University of Tennessee at Knoxville found reading just 12 books during the summer was as effective as summer school. How can we get our kids excited about reading?

One way is to let our kids choose their own content. A trip to a Little Free Library can give your child plenty of choices and get them excited about picking up a book.

Little Free Libraries are available worldwide, with more than 150,000 registered book-sharing boxes in 70 countries. It's estimated 70 million books are shared each year through Little Free Libraries, offering access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.

The Little Free Library concept is simple: Anyone may take a book or share a book. (You do not need to share a book in order to take one!)

Using Little Free Libraries is a great way to keep your bookshelf uncluttered, feel good about sharing with others, and score some great new reads for your kids — and you too!

There was a beautiful but lonely tree, located among beautiful Louisiana Pine Trees on a long, winding road. Our vision was, that if we added a LFL , the community would gather and the tree would no longer be lonely. We have books for "smalls" and "talls" and treats for our 4 legged book chewers. We own a Blind/Shutter business, so it is built with scraps with a "shutter" theme. We even have a night light in case a Vampire drops by!

Carol and Jim Cortazzo fell in love as teenagers, and never fell out of it. They married and raised four children, then saw six grandchildren come to be. They loved each other. They loved their family. They loved books. Cancer took him too soon. For nearly three decades, she was the loving matriarch, but also the mournful widow. In 2021, we believe she rejoined him. Our library celebrates their lives and their love.
